Snow Mobiling

This Winter, Isaac and I were able to escape down to Daniels Summit with Mike Becky for a couple of days and enjoy the outdoors on our snow mobiles. We had a blast and great weather. We were only there for 2 days, but had a great time. Plus, the 2nd day my snow mobile decided not to work so Becky and I spent the half of the day warming up in bed and watching movies.

It was nice to get away from the business of life and enjoy the outdoors.

Mike and Isaac were crazy and were not at all afraid to try big jumps and see how high they could climb with their machines. They spent many hours digging their machines out of the snow. Although they climbed mountains and jumped over hills, they didn't beat the jump I made (not on purpose i might add).

I was riding the machine and decided that i'll see how fast i can get it going. I wasn't paying attention to the geographics of the land, and missed a creek up ahead. By the time I noticed the creek I was going to fast to stop, so the only options i had was to floor it and try jumping the creek or to stop and do a nose dive. I gunned it and closed my eyes! I made it and only got mild bruising. And luckily, i was wearing a helmet, which saved my life when i rammed my head through the windshield. I can laugh about the experience now, but it was really scary and shook me up a bit.

Christmas 2008

Wow, time has flown by, and as usual I am behind in my blog page. We had a fun Christmas this year. Each year the kids get more and more fun. Kade and Vince loved the Christmas ornaments and I think every day i would hear the sound of breaking ornaments! One whole box of ornaments are now gone! Here's some advice, buy the non-breakable ornaments when you have little kids! Even though I have 4 kids, i still haven't caught on yet.

We had our infamous Christmas Eve party, which was a blast. The boys went to DI that morning and bought their chrismtas eve outfits. This years theme was colors. Isaac was sporting the blue. Our skit this year was inspired by Smallville, but it didn't quite turn out the way it was supposed to. Saidy sat in the back hiding her face, lines were skipped, and Kade would not cry (like he was supposed to). Oh well, there's always next year. The Kids were excited when Santa showed up at our party and handed out presents.
I love Christmas because of the love you feel from everyone. it's a time of year where we can remember our Savior and the wonderful gift He gave us. He was born to give us the gift of eternal life. I want to strive a little harder this year to do what's right and make His Atonement worth it. In relief Society we talked about 3 things we want to change to make our lives a little easier this year. I challenge everyone to do that. Pick 3 simple things that if you changed them your life would get a little easier. I'm trying to do mine and so far i have notice a difference.

Set up!

I was completely set up a couple days ago. Leah comes up to me and starts asking me about Santa. This is how the conversation went. L: Mom, can Santa see us ALL the time? M: Yes, he watches to make sure we are always good. L: Then, did he see us when we went to the store? M: Yes, he saw us there too. L: Then Did he see that I really want the sparkly pony with the wings? M: Yes, i guess he did see that you really wanted it.
Here I thought I was done Christmas shopping and then that happens. I guess I will have to go out on black friday after all!
Today Vince was playing with the chalk board. He brings me the paper towel we have in there for erasing and says, "HOT, HOT". I reply No that's not hot, it's just dirty. He continues to tell me it's hot, and i'm finally like okay whatever! Well I go into the room to watch him and he's tearing it apart, making the dust go everywhere. It looked like smoke. So he turns to me, pointing at the "smoke" and says "Hot, Hot". Now i understand what he means! I just thought that was really cute!

Alright I am finally updating my blog (BECKY)! I'm glad i have family that helps motivate me. Well not much has happened recently, except for Isaac coming home. He's been home for about 3 weeks and it' s been great, but now it is time for him to get back to work and OUT OF THE HOUSE! Okay, so it hasn't been that bad but we're both going a little crazy. Lucky enough we have friends that need their basement framed.
I know it's a little late, but we had fun this halloween. Isaac made it home just in time for the halloween party that we were in charged of. It turned out really fun and the kids had a good time. Vince was also busy being Mr. Kissy Face with his twin cousin Lydia. They played so cute together. Vince was a skunk, Leah a lady bug, which she helped make her own costume, Saidy was Snow White (of course), and Kade was the chicken. Isaac and I switched rolls and dressed up as each other. I was a construction worker and he was a pregnant woman.

On Halloween Isaac decided to dress Vince up as...I don't know what to call it. He wore chicken legs, skunk body, with a princess crown and fairy wings. If you know Isaac i'm sure this doesn't surprise you. Everyone kept asking me, "What is he?" I would say a creation of his father. This year, Isaac stayed home with Kade and I took the kids out. Well, Leah found a group of kids that ran a lot faster than Saidy and Vince and took off with them. Soon i could not find her and was getting worried. The two kids and I had to skip a lot of houses looking for her. Luckily, some neighbors who were going ahead of me found her and stopped her from going any further.

Kade continues to grow soo fast! He not only is crawling, but is standing up on everything. He even let go and stood for about 3-5 seconds. He's going to be walking soon. Am i ready for another walker?! I don't think so! He gets into everything. And like all the other kids his favorites are the remotes and telephones! He is really starting to look like Isaac. Finally, Isaac gets someone that looks like him!

Kids grow up too fast!

Kade is now 5 months old and is getting so big! He has two teeth now, so i have to watch out when i feed him! Watch out, he bites! He scoots everywhere and can sit up by himself. In fact, the other day he was on his stomach and he moved into a sitting position all by himself! So much for him being my slow one! I was hoping to have at least one that wasn't so eager to move. Maybe my next one will be mellow. We'll see! Kade can also lift himself up onto his hands and knees. He's going to be crawling soon i just know it!

I have also been feeding him the rice cereal but he does NOt like it so i tried real baby food. He LOVED it! He downed the carrots and squash in no time. He would cry everytime i took the spoon out of his mouth. I couldnt' feed him fast enough!

He loves to play peek-a-boo and loves to get attention. Sometimes he gets too much from his siblings, in which i have to come to the rescue! I've found Vince sitting on his face, jumping off his back, Leah and Sadie carrying him by his arms and legs, rolling around with him, Vince trying to feed him pretzels/other snacks! You name it, i've caught my children doing it to him! Kade is one tough kid! If i had Leah, Sadie, and Vince has my older siblings i would make that same face!

Vince is now 21 months old and is starting to talk so well. He says thankyou all the time and has started using sentences. For instance, i asked if he wanted some left over dinner and he said, "No, it's hot mom!" I was surprised! He also LOVES trains and cars. My worst nightmare came true when he brought me the Thomas the Train movie and says, "Choo-CHoo mom. Choo-choo!" (i can't stand that movie!) But he does like "Cars" too, so i try to convince him to watch that instead. He just keeps on getting cuter and cuter every day. I love my little buddy!

Sadie's Birthday Party

Sadie just had a birthday. She turned 3! Can you believe it?! I had a small party for her but she still had fun. Her cousins Kate and Annie, and a good friend, Naomi, came over for it. I had this crazy idea to make her a princess castle cake because she loves princesses! I don't think i'll do that again unless Isaac is home. It was no "Amber" cake but it turned out alright and she loved it. That's all that matters, right? She had a ton of fun dressing up in her new snow white dress and crown, and playing with her new walkie talkies. She also got a little cat from Kate which caused constant bickering between sadie and leah because leah LOVES it too!

What happens when Dad is gone!

Isaac has been out in Washington State working the last month and so my life at home as been nothing but crazy! I do pretty well at keeping a journal so I thought I would list a couple of things that I have dealt with since He's been gone.

  1. Do you remember the "skip-it"? We inherited one from a family party because Leah had to have it. Well, someone (i won't say any names...SADIE!) forgot to flush the toilet one day and Vince took the "skip-it" and was trying to plunge the toilet. I suppose he saw that it needed to be cleaned and the "skip-it" was the closet thing he found to do the job with!

  2. I was outside weeding and I finally got Kade asleep in the bouncer outside with me. I thought everything was great until Sadie took the hose and started spraying Kade! Needless to say, he woke up and I got no more weeding done!

  3. Leah sprayed her eyes with sunscreen

  4. After my neighbor watched my kids, i thought I would be able to go home and relax while they took a nap. Well, i was wrong! Sadie pooped in the car before we got home! I was SO mad! Not only that, but Vince also spilt lemonade all over my seat, which my seat belt still sticks! So, no I did not get to relax but I had to clean the inside of my car!

  5. Leah and Sadie have found a new toy, their toothbrushes! I find them everywhere and when I ask them why they're playing with toothbrushes they tell me, "We're pretending they're people!"
  6. Lastly, Vince jumps off tramp before I can get to him and does face plant onto grass! Don't worry he was fine!
